Bejedil (Malaysian deep fried potato cutlet) recipe

I've just added a recipes category to my blog to share all my simple step-by step photos recipes, that have all been tested, passed with flying colours and guaranteed fool-proof!

The first recipe I'm going to share is Bejedil , which is the Malay name for potato patty. This make a very good afternoon snack or potluck dish to bring to a gathering.

Ingredients
potatoes
crispy fried shallots
spring onion
eggs
corriandor
ground nutmeg
ground cumin
pinch of salt & white pepper

Method
1) Deep-fry sliced potato till cooked, drain and left a side. (Some prefer to boil though)

2) Mash them and mix well with the thinly sliced spring onions and crispy fried shallots.

3) Pressed them into patty, coat them with the beaten eggs and deep-fry them until they turn golden brown.

4) Ready to serve!

Ta-dah~ I made it sound so easy or what~?

Battle of the Star Chefs - Mrs Singapore & Mrs Classic Singapore 2016

When we talk about domestical role of a wife and a mother, taking pride in cooking for love ones is definitely part of it. It is also another way to refine a woman's femininity. Aren't we proclaimed as the domestic goddess right?

Today, the next challenge will be "Battle of the Star Chefs.", where our ladies displayed their culinary prowess by creating a variety of innovative dishes, using our sponsors' products; iLite sugar replacement (half the calories!) and either the curry or laksa la mian from PrimaTaste.

This event is another of the organiser's endeavours to enrich the contestants experience with a well-thought creative concept, as well as the opportunity to hone their skill. Furthermore, our ladies also get to receive useful tips on how they can improve their skills from our cooking experts as judges today.

Walking into the competition hall is like entering a Michelin 6 stars restaurant with all the food lay out impressively, feasting the eyes.

Check out the photos below to witness this unique culinary twist!

We have some of our talented contestants here, tagged team with their beloved hubby.

(His apron is too cute la!)

Every contestant takes turns to talk more about their dish and present them to the judges for tasting. Winners get to walk away with the prizes on the stage!

Being an avid noobie cook myself, I was truly trilled to be present at a live cooking competition and witnessed how the contestants battle it out to be the next Star Chef of Mrs Singapore & Mrs Classic Singapore 2016.

Once again, if you happened to catch this event last weekend at OneKM mall and took a photo/selfie, please post it online with the hastag "whynotmrssingapore". $1 will be donated to the Society of the Aged. Let's all do a part for charity too!

Talent show for Mrs Singapore & Mrs Classic Singapore 2016

When the focus in life has shifted to taking the role of growing the family and nurturing your marriage, it is still necessary to take time for yourself and remember the hobbies, joy and passion in your life that once excite you.

Today's Talent show is a good opportunity for our Mrs Singapore (age 25 to 45) & Mrs Classic Singapore contestants (age 46 and above) to recollect reminiscences of their interest or pastimes that they used to enjoy, or are still participating in.

If you happened to take a selfie/photo at our venue OneKm last saturday on 16th April, then now its a good time to do your part for charity! Because every posted photo that comes with the hashtag "whynotmrssingapore", $1 will be donated to the Society of the Aged Sick.

Now we see our lovely judges ,host and production crew all ready to begin our TalentShow 2016

Below are all the talents that our contestants are showcasing, from ethic dances to oldies singing, and even playing of instruments, these talented ladies are truly awe-inspiring!

Our panel of judges giving very constructive feedbacks on how the ladies can further improve their performance.

The wonderful support from the contestants' families, friends, cheerleading teams or "fan club"!

Instead of 3 winners, we had 4 top winners this year! All 4 of them earned the chance to perform at the Grand Finals next month.

Putting up an entertaining show on stage in front of a vast audience is no easy feat, but our talented ladies did a splendid job, and most importantly they all had an awesome time enjoying that few minutes of limelight!
