Korean Crystal Lip Embroidery at The Beauty Recipe

As many have already known, I'm a sucker for any kind of quick beauty fixes. There are so many reasons to get semi-permanent makeup that are beyond the time-saving benefits. You spent lesser on makeup, you don't have to worry about your makeup smudging or whether you applied it accurately, and it eliminates the hassle of reapplying makeup on a daily basis.

One of their signature services is the latest Korean Crystal Lip Embroidery, a treatment that uses a fine needle to deposit pigments into the dermal layer of the lips' skin, enhancing the shape and colour , so the lips look fuller , more symmetrical and defined.

Furthermore, The Beauty Recipe only use colour dyes that are organic plant-based , therefore it is safe, absorbed to the skin easier , does not change colour overtime and have the lowest chance to cause any sensitive reactions.

This is my lips BEFORE the treatment. 

I requested for my lips to be fuller and more defined, with a neutral pink shade to achieve that natural youthful appearance.

First, the lips are sanitized and scrubbed clean to removed any dead skins before applying the numbing cream. I couldn't feel a thing during the first hour of the session, yes no pain and I even fell asleep.

However when I woke up, I can feel the effects of the cream fading off and the therapist seemed to know that too and asked if I need a second "dosage" of the numbing cream. The second round of numbing cream easily lulled me back to sleep again while the therapist carried on with her magic work.

Cotton pads are put inside the mouth to prevent the colour pigment from getting inside the mouth. During the procedure, the therapist would change them and also check how I'm feeling. 

Ta-dah~ Right after the treatment , your lips definitely swell like this, as though you just had a lip filler done. My therapist assured me that there is nothing to freak out as it is normal for the colour to be darker and brighter than expected immediately after it is done. The actual colour will only reveal itself after the skin starts peeling and flaking off from your lips. At this moment, the lips are very sensitive, tender and feels dry and tingling. I was given an after-care serum to apply on the lips twice a day to soothe them and to speed up recovery. 

My lips were prone to chapping and started peeling from the 3rd day onwards. It can be quite annoying but I try to refrain myself from rubbing and pulling off the dead skin from my lips. I knew it just take a few more days for it to recover.

On the 7th day , most of the dead skin have flaked off from my lips, revealing a tender and natural soft pink lips which I've been looking forward to.  

This pic is taken randomly on my hp, with nothing on my lips. If I want a more vivid glossy shade on my lips, I just easily apply moisturizer or lip balm to it. Lovely isn't it~
